Steve <br />Moore, Officer Michael Lochen, Officer Matt DeBoer, along with Allina Medical personnel to <br />include Jamie Wilts, Adry McConnell, and Kathy Burg. <br /> <br />Legislative History: <br /> <br />N/A <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />N/A <br /> <br />Explanation: <br /> <br />On August 26, 2006 at approximately 1609 hours, a call was received from 1401 Champion <br />Drive that a woman was not breathing and did not have a pulse. Police Officers and Allina <br />Medical personnel were dispatched, and, Allina Dispatcher Kathy Burg began giving pre-arrival <br />instructions to the caller. Police Officers including Sgt. Steven Moore, Officer Michael Lochen <br />and Officer Matt DeBoer arrived to find Ms. Beverly Dietrich was not breathing and did not <br />have a pulse. Officer DeBoer attached an automatic external defibrillator and one shock was <br />delivered. The officers began CPR and Allina Medics Jamie Wilts and Adry McConnell arrived <br />to assist with life saving efforts. A pulse was regained, and, Officer Lochen accompanied Ms. <br />Dietrich to Unity Hospital with Allina Medical continuing to assist Ms. Dietrich with breathing, <br /> <br />Approximately one month later, Ms. Dietrich returned home having survived a full cardiac <br />arrest. Ms. Dietrich is continuing to recover and her family has thanked the officers indicating <br />"thank you so very very much, you are really a plus to our community". <br /> <br />Thanks in part to the efforts of Allina dispatch, police officers, medics, and, hospital staff, Ms. <br />Beverly Dietrich is alive and continuing her life with her family. <br /> <br />I :\COUNCILIREPOR TS\2006\Public SafetyIDiettich Lifesaving.doc <br />
