<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />New Brighton; MN <br /> <br />November 8, 2006 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Cost Estimate <br />Depending on the final scope ofthe project, the estimated construction cost is between $160,000 <br />and $210,000. <br /> <br />Engineering Services <br />Our proposed scope for the Step 2 (Final Design, Construction Document Preparation) and Step <br />3 (Construction Administration/Surveillance) engineering services is detailed in Appendix A. <br />The proposed schedule for the project is to have the final construction plans and specifications <br />completed by the end of December, 2006. This will allow the City to bid the project for <br />construction after the new year and have late winter/spring of2007 construction. Depending on <br />when construction starts, final project completion is anticipated during the month of May or <br />early June, 2007. <br /> <br />Upon authorization of this proposal, we will immediately begin final design. Upondesign <br />completion, copies of the plans and specifications will be presented to City Staff and the MDH <br />for review and comment. <br /> <br />A complete Scope of Engineering Services is listed in Appendix A. <br /> <br />Consultant Staff <br />I will serve as the Project Engineer for this Project and will be assisted by Project Manager and <br />water treatment discipline leader Miles Jensen. We will be responsible for conducting the <br />process design as well as coordinating the work efforts and schedules of other team members. <br />As needed, I will utilize electrical engineering staff from Bonestroo. "-- <br /> <br />For observation services, we will use the services ofKLM Engineering, Inc. KLM will provide <br />inspection of welding and painting by a NACE Trained Coating Inspector and/or and A WS <br />Certified Welding Inspector. <br /> <br />Compensation <br /> <br />Step 2 Engineering Fees: <br />We propose to complete the outlined Step 2 (Final Design, Construction Document Preparation) <br />efforts on an hourly basis that is in accordance with our standard billing rate schedule. We <br />propose an hourly Not-to-Exceed amount of$18,000for process and electrical engineering plus <br />Reimbursable Expenses. Our standard billing rate schedule is attached following Appendix A. <br />Reimbursable Expenses are estimated at no more than $500 for this phase. We understand that <br />the value of this Not-to-Exceed amount cannot increase withoutfurther authorization from you. <br />
