Ms. Troha has served the City of New Brighton as the Assistant City <br />Manager since 2001. The City Council approved the appointment of Ms. Troha to the Acting City <br />. Manager position until the City Manager position was permanently filled. She assumed these additional <br />duties and responsibilities on July 7,2006, the last day of employment for the former City Manager. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />Recently, other metro cities have adjusted the salary of their Interim City Manager to reflect 95% of the <br />outgoing City Manager's salary. Using this formula, 95% of the outgoing City Manager's salary is <br />$8,264/month. This equates to a $1,1 OO/month increase over Ms. Troha's current salary as Assistant City <br />Manager. There will still be savings in the 2006 Budget since the former City Manager's salary was <br />budgeted at 100%, and there was one less person in the Administration Department. <br /> <br />Explanation: <br /> <br />During the interim period, Ms. Troha has assumed all of the responsibilities of the City Manager position. <br />Due to the increased responsibilities associated with serving as the Acting City Manager, it is <br />recommended that her monthly salary be adjusted for the time in which she has served in this capacity. <br />This adjustment will be made retroactive to July 7, 2006 when she assumed the role of Acting City <br />Manager, and it will conclude on February 1,2006 when the new City Manager starts employment with <br />the City. <br /> <br />~\~ <br /> <br />Steve Larson <br />.
