<br />Chapter X-6 <br /> <br />in sections 10-010 c. and 10-040 of this chapter. <br /> <br />c. standards for floodway special uses. <br /> <br />(1) All uses. No structure (temporary of permanent), fill (including <br />fill for roads and levees), deposit, obstruction, storage of <br />materials, or equipment, or other uses may be allowed as <br />special uses which, acting along or in combination with existing <br />or reasonably anticipated future uses, adversely affects the <br />the capacity of the floodway or increases flood heights. In <br />addition, all floodway special uses shall be subject to the <br />standards contained in section 10-110 d.S. and the following <br />standards, sections 10-040 c.l. through 10-040 c.S. <br /> <br />(2): Fill. <br /> <br />a. Any fill deposited in the floodway shall be no more than the <br />minimal amount necessary to conduct special use listed in <br />section 10-040 b. Generally fill shall be limited to that <br />needed to grade or landscape for that use and shall not in <br />any way further obstruct the flow of floodwaters. <br /> <br />b. Spoil from dredging or sand and gravel operations shall not <br />be deposited in the floodway unless it can be done in <br />accordance with (a) of this section. <br /> <br />c. Fill shall be protected from erosion by vegetative cover. <br /> <br />(3) Accessory structures (temporary or permanent) permitted as <br />special uses by section 10-040 b. <br /> <br />a. Accessory structures shall not be designed for human habitation. <br /> <br />b. Accessory structures shall have a low flood damage potential. <br /> <br />c. Accessory structures, if permitted, shall be constructed and <br />placed on the building site so as to offer the minimum <br />obstruction to the flow of floodwaters. <br /> <br />1. Whenever possible, structures shall be constructed <br />with the longitudinal axis parallel to the direction <br />of the flood flow; and <br /> <br />2. So far as practicable, structures shall be placed <br />approximately on the same flood flow lines as those <br />of adjoining structures~ <br /> <br />d. Accessory structures shall be floodproofed in accordance with <br />the state building code. <br />
