<br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 9, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />Consent Agenda, continued <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Gunderman, to APPROVE THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA ITEM AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />CONSOLIDATED VOUCHERS: <br />$66,117.79. <br /> <br />97463-97565 FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF Vouchers <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Public Hearing - None <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Motion by Brandt, seconded by Gunderman, to MOVE CONSENT AGENDA ITEM <br />#4, REPORT 90-7, TO THE FIRST ITEM ON THE COUNCIL BUSINESS AGENDA. <br /> <br />III 4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council congratulated Mark Frieden on his appointment as 1990 New <br />Brighton Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Mark Bishop, Fire Marshall, presented for consideration the adoption <br />of the 1988 Minnesota Uniform Fire Code. <br /> <br />The Fire Department has been using the 1982 Minnesota Uniform Fire <br />Code which complied with State law. In October 1989, the State <br />adopted the 1988 Minnesota Uniform Fire Code. <br /> <br />The 1988 Code has been written to eliminate conflicts with building <br />and other related codes, and to provide uniform interpretations and <br />inspections for property owners and developers. <br /> <br />The Code also includes technical improvements in fire and life <br />safety requi rements and a vastl y expanded secti on regul ati ng the <br />use, storage and handling of hazardous materials. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT THE RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ADOPTION OF THE 1988 MINNESOTA <br />UNIFORM FIRE CODE. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Adoption of 1988 <br />Uniform Fire Code <br />Report 90-7 <br />Resolution 90-3 <br />
