<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 25, 1989 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />-:'"~ <br /> <br />Council Business, continued <br /> <br />Jim O'Meara, Briggs and Morgan, has reviewed and approved the <br />agreement and noted such subordination agreements are quite <br />standard. <br /> <br />The groundbreakin9 for Mr. Svee's project will be July 31, 1989, at <br />9;30 a.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Larson, to AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND <br />CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SUBORDINATION AGREEMENT WITH INVESTORS <br />SAVINGS BANK. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Judy Goepel, Marketing/Community Events Coordinator, presented an <br />artistrcndering of a prop~sed new City logo and newsletter mock- <br />up. The new logo presents a bolder and trendier image with several <br />shades of green screened into a motion line. The newsletter will <br />be tabloid-size and will likely be printed on recycled material. <br />The newsl etter presents more of a "fol ksy" update on New Brighton <br />activities. Larson feels the new logo is trendy and refreshing but <br />still holds on to the traditional "NSlI logo. Williams feels the <br />proposed newsletter reflects the feedback from the residents in the <br />citizen survey. <br /> <br />Benke noted that the National League of Cities has begun accepting <br />registrations for their December conference. <br /> <br />Benke directed staff to inform residents of an opening on the Rice <br />Creek Watershed District Board. <br /> <br />The Transportation Study Board will meet with the Northern Mayors <br />Associ ati on on August 9th to di scuss metropol itan transportati on <br />isstJes. <br /> <br />The Economic Development Commission and the Chamber of Commerce will <br />meet for a brainstorming session on July 27th regarding a strategy <br />for future downtown area developments. <br /> <br />Council expressed their dissatisfaction of Ramsey County's decision <br />to de 1 ay the south phase of the Long Lake Road proj ect. Wi 11 i ams <br />agrees that Ramsey County should be contacted in regards to the Long <br />lake Road project, and feels the Ramsey County Compost Site should <br />extend their hours of operation. Childs will schedule a meeting <br />wi th Don Sa 1 verda, Ramsey County Commi ss i oner to discuss these <br />matters. <br />
