October 7, 1997
Emy Matilla
City Council
City Planning Commission
City of New Brighton
803 Fifth Avenue N.W.
New Brighton, MN 55112
Re: New Brighton Church
Dear Emy:
cShinCLCI%bee
On behalf of the New Aposolic Church, we respectfully are seeking a special use permit
for constructing a new church building. The property on which the building will be
constructed is located at the Northwest corner of Old Highway #8 and First Street
Northwest.
The facility will be a wood framed structure with brick venire for the exterior finish. The
building will be constructed on a slab on grade.
The Church is seeking the permit based on the following reasons:
A. The membership is presently meeting in a rented facility on a month-to-month
basis creating hardship and stress at a time when peace and joy is desired.
B. The members live within and around the New Brighton City limits, presently
without a permanent meeting place.
C. Their old building was sold due to its age and location.
D. A new church building is of dire need by the members, and will be of great
betterment for the current and future members.
E. The location of the property allows access from Old Highway #8. The time and
days in which the facility will be occupied is of a minimum to low impact use.
The new facility will have a seating capacity of 125. The current average attending
membership is 42, therefore, allowing room for growth
6hinpbee Builders. Inc.
66" N. Medina Street, P.O. Box S.
