<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 13, 1989 <br /> <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />Council Business, continued <br /> <br />The three contractors were: Recomp, Inc., Ramsey Recycling, Inc.) <br />and E-l Recycling, Inc. <br /> <br />After reviewing the three proposals, staff recommends signing a <br />seven month contract with E-l Recycl ing Inc. E-l Recycl ing is <br />presently servicing St. Paul Districts #3 and #7 and has proposed <br />to service our area at the same level and prices as the former Super <br />Cycle. <br /> <br />Benke asked if staff felt confident that E-l Recycling could service <br />our area satisfactorily. Fridgen has verified their references and <br />received satisfactory comments on their work. They have also signed <br />a similar contract with Arden Hills. <br /> <br />Chris Reinhardt, President of E-l Recycl ing Inc., said they are <br />excited and confident that their firm can perform a satisfactory <br />job for the City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />Fridgen noted, in the interim, staff will be meeting with the Quad <br />Cities (New Brighton, Mounds View, Arden Hills, and Shoreview) to <br />discuss the possibility of a joint effort in the areas of recycling <br />and organized collection. <br /> <br />Mot i on by Gunderman, seconded by Benke, to CONTRACT WITH E-l <br />RECYCLING, INC. FOR THE NEXT SEVEN MONTHS. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Recycling Contractor <br />Agreement <br />Report 89-162 <br /> <br />Announcements & Updates <br /> <br />Wi 11 i ams said the Ramsey County League of Local Governments wi 11 <br />hold a meeting with the subject being "Role of Mayor and City RCLLG Meeting <br />Manager" in the New Brighton City Hall on June 21st. <br /> <br />Gunderman has been contacted by the Mayor of Shoreview in regards <br />to an old house on Highway 96. It was suggested that the house be Depot Renovation <br />included into the Depot Renovation Project. Gunderman will Project <br />investigate the feasibility of this project. <br /> <br />Benke said the opening of the Long Lake Boat Launch will be held on Long Lake Boat Launch <br />June 19th. Gunderman said the Park Board is concerned about the <br />possible spread of the Eurasian Milfoil weed. The weed is infesting <br />several lakes in the metro area and is very difficult to control. <br />One approach to the prob 1 em mi ght be some type of inspect ion <br />procedure at the new boat launch. <br />
