1 I 1 Council Meeting Minutes February 28, 1989 Page 14 Council Business, continued Orduno presented the consideration of appointments for the Community Center Task Force. There has been excellent response from people interested in serving on the Community Center Task Force. The Community Center Ad Hoc Commi ttee have rev; ewed the 1; st of interested persons and has proposed a 18 member task force and 7 ex-officio members. The Task Force would meet in early March for an organizational and directional meeting. A second meeting would be scheduled to review the proposals of the three consultants and make a final recommendation to the Council on March 28, 1989 for the consultant to do the needs assessment. Staff feels the proposed task force members represent a broad cross- section of the community. Benke feels the Task Force includes people with many varied talents, but would suggest another group of people to be called upon when the need arises. The Staff liaisons would be Samantha Orduno, Kevin Locke, Maurie Anderson and Margaret Egan. Benke has spoke to Ken Johnson, Park Board Chairman, and Ed Walhof, Micom, and both have agreed to serve as Co-Chairs of the Task Force. Each would bring a strong business and community background, as well as leadership qualities to the task force.
