The Representatives have been meeting every <br />day with the big emphasis on economic development. Revitalizing <br />communities, both rural and urban, is one major concern. Pellow and <br />a congregation visited Moorhead and Brainerd to 1 isten to the <br />concerns of the business communities. The survivors generally are <br />the towns that work together. He wi 11 keep the New Sri ghton <br />community updated on all issues. <br /> <br />Kevin Locke presented the consideration for a development agreement <br />with Interstate Centre Development Group. <br /> <br />The ICDG has proposed to build an 80,000 square foot office/showroom <br />facility consisting of two buildings on a 6.25 acre redevelopment <br />site along County Road D. The site is parcel #14 of the Old Highway <br />8 Corridor's potential redevelopment sites and is located within the <br />City's development district. The proposed building will be a single <br />story multi-tenant building with a quality brick and glass exterior. <br /> <br />Presently, the site is being used by Hydro-Stream-Pipkorn Ltd. Inc. <br />and 0 Rock Center. <br /> <br />The development agreement has been prepared by Jim O'Meara, Briggs <br />and Morgan. The terms call for the City to acqu ire the site and <br />then sell the parcels to ICDG by July 1, 1989. Total acquisition <br />and other City costs will be covered by the sale of the land to the <br />deve 1 oper for $607,000. A Letter of Cred it is requ i red from the <br />deve 1 oper equal to the purchase pri ce for the 1 and pri or to the <br />Ci ty' s purchase of the si te. Before actual transfer of the <br />property, the developer must show proof of financing for the <br />project. A second Letter of Credit for $150,000 is required to <br />guarantee construction of the phase II building. <br /> <br />Architect, Greg duMonceaux, presented the site plans for the <br />office/showroom facil ity. Benefits found in this type of site plan <br />include: front door parking, visible image and signage, one-story, <br />1 andscapi ng, and conveni ent 1 oadi ng of products.
