The Lions Veterans Park <br />Club have expressed interest in funding this project. Plan <br />Report 89-39 <br /> <br />Anderson exp 1 a i ned the types of entrance signs wh i ch wi 11 be <br />installed in the Park. Space has been set aside for additional <br />memorials planned in the future. <br /> <br />Gary DeCosse, sculptor, is excited about the opportunity the City <br />has given him to display his work in a public arena. <br /> <br />Brandt asked if the inscription on the sculpture would require <br />special maintenance. DeCosse said there should be no special <br />maintenance involved. Brandt also suggested that DeCosse be invited <br />to attend the dedication. Benke feels this sculpture will reflect <br />appropriately the theme of this park. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Brandt to APPROVE THE CONCEPT PLAN <br />FOR THE PLAZA/ENTRANCE TO VETERANS PARK. <br /> <br />III 4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Entrance <br /> <br />Anderson presented the request for authorization to execute the Hansen Park Hockey Rink <br />agreement for a hockey rink study. Cover Feasibility Study <br />Report 89-40 <br /> <br />The City has received a $2,500 donation from the Lake Region Hockey <br />Association and the Council has allocated up to $2,500 to conduct <br />a mini feasibility study on the shelter. <br /> <br />Proposals have been received from three firms and all were similar <br />in nature. Because of their past experience, Anderson recommended <br />executing a contract with Bonestroo and Associates for a hockey rink <br />study which would not exceed $3,800. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Williams, TO AUTHORIZE STAFF TO <br />EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH BONESTROO AND ASSOCIATES FOR A HOCKEY RINK <br />STUDY NOT TO EXCEED $3,800 AND TO CHANGE THE 1989 BUDGET BY <br />AUTHORIZING DEPOSIT OF A $2.500 LAKE REGION HOCKEY ASSOCIATION GIFT <br />AND $2,500 FROM THE C<M1UNITY INVOLVEMENT FUND INTO THE PARKS <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br />
