RESOLUTION NO. <br />07-006 <br />STATE OF MINNI~SOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE STAFF TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH 3M TO <br />SELL GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON EQUIPMENT LOCATED AT THE PGRS (WATER <br />TREATMENT PLANT #2) <br />WHEREAS, The Record of Decision for Operable Unit 3 was finalized in August 2006; and <br />WHEREAS, The PGRS Plant is no longer needed as a groundwater remediation facility; and <br />WHEREAS, On October 18, 2006 the City advertised equipment for sale in the New Brighton <br />Bulletin; and <br />WHEREAS, The City will receive $50,000 in exchange for selling six ten-foot diameter vessels <br />and all associated piping and electrical appurtenances. Removal of the equipment will start on or <br />about February 1, 2007 and be completed by March 1, 2007; and <br />WHEREAS, The existing building is only 13 years old with substantial value as in interim storage <br />facility for City vehicles and equipment. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of New $righton, Minnesota <br />that: <br />1. The City Council authorizes the Director of Public Works to enter into an agreement <br />with 3M subject to the approval of the terms and conditions by the City Attorney. <br />2. The $50,000 offer is unrestricted and will be placed in a capital projects fund.
