From these twelve, it will be <br />recommended th t five be selected to be interviewed. He estimated <br />the entire p ocess to take 60-90 days until the selection is <br />complete (thi is assuming the appointed individual will need 30 <br />days followin appointment before actually beginning work). Mr. <br />Brimeyer poi n ed out that thei r fi rm not onl y has the one-year <br />guarantee, bu also offers a "work-program" in whi ch they wi 11 <br />continue to m et with the Council, Manager and Department Heads to <br />assess progress and objectives for 12-18 months. The only <br />additional co t for this service is expenses. <br /> <br />Mr. Law advis d that if a decision is made on December 5th, an <br />advertisement could be placed in the ICMA publication on December <br />19th. This pu lication will capture the majority of responses. He <br />asked for a s aff member to be responsible for setting up meetings <br />wi th the Counci 1, department heads, Hank and others to keep the <br />process movin on schedule. <br /> <br />In response t a question by Councilmember Gunderman relative to <br />testing proce ures used for candidates, Messrs Law and Brimeyer <br />noted they us ally rely on either "Meyers-Briggs" or "Performax", <br />however, they ave been hearing excellent reports on "Personalysis", <br />and may cons der this. This profile could be shared with the <br />Advisory Com issions, however, they felt that there should be <br />limitations 0 the number of individuals involved in the selection <br />process. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor illiams thanked Messrs Law and Brimeyer for their very <br />comprehensive presentation; and noted they would be advised of the <br />Council IS dec sion. <br /> <br />Mr. Sinda com ented he had reviewed the proposals of both firms and <br />felt they we e both very professional, with the only difference <br />being in thei "approach'l. Councilmember Brandt noted that if all <br />other factor were equal in the two proposals, she would prefer <br />using a "Minnesota" firm, inasmuch as they are more famil iar with <br />the Midwest a d their management style and objectives. <br /> <br />Motion by Gun erman, seconded by Larson, to AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND <br />CITY MANAGER 0 EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH SATHE & ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />TO PROVIDE EXECUTIVE SEARCH CONSULTANT SERVICES. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Na es, Motion Carried <br />
