Winkels, City Planner <br /> <br />RE: Review of Special Use Permit - LaPepiniere Montessori School and Day <br />Care Center - Polynesian Village Apartments - 1239 &Oth St. ffiv <br />ApClrtments 103,and 105 <br /> <br />In April, 1974, the New Brighton City Council approved a special <br />use permit (SP-54) to allow the use of two apartment units for the <br />above noted Montessori School and Day Care Center. The action taken <br />'t1i'lS as follm<1s: <br /> <br />"~otion by Eagon, seconded by Fisher, to approve SP-54 <br />with the fOllowing conditions: <br /> <br />1. That the special use permit become effective only <br />upon State approval of the license for the school: <br /> <br />2. That four parking stalls adajcent to the building <br />1219 be signed and reserved for the school's parking <br />during the hours of operation of the school: <br /> <br />3. That the Council requires the installation of a fence <br />in the play area: however, it reserves determination of <br />when the fence is to be installed to a future date: <br /> <br />4. Special use permit is subject to Council review after <br />blO years. <br /> <br />5 ayes - 0 nClyes - carried" <br /> <br />In regard to these conditions, the applicant did provide a copy of <br />their state license and the four parking stalls have been signed <br />and reserved for the operation of the school. <br /> <br />A personal inspection of the school was made at which the director <br />of the operation, Mr. Les Pheiffer, was present. In addition, the <br />resident manager of the POlynesian Village Apartment complex was <br />consulted as to the operation of the school. Both the apartment <br />manager and Mr. Pheiffer indicated that they had not received any <br />complaints from apartment tenants. Likewise, the Administration <br />has not received any complaints regarding the operation. <br />
