Johnson, Building & Planning Coordinator <br /> <br />RE: KTIS proposal to Construct Radio T~lers <br /> <br />This memorandum is intended to set drn1n for future <br />reference the substance of our discussions regarding the proposed <br />radio towers to be located in the northwest quadrant of I-694 <br />'and I-35H. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />F ''1e first discussed this, I believe, in August of this year. <br />, You expressed concern at that time regarding the potential danger <br />of a collnpsing tOh'er and also regarding your unfamiliarity ~,oJith <br />this type of construction. I indicated that I had informed the <br />realtor, Ed Nyborg, that a special use permit would probably <br />be necessary. You agreed that this permit probably should be <br />required. <br /> <br />lvediscussedthis same topic again during the week <br />of October 7. You again reiterated your concern regarding <br />the potential danger of a falling tower and also regarding your <br />inability to adequately review plans for and inspection of <br />construction of this type. I also pointed out to you that this <br />proposal could be detrimental to the general development of the <br />area including the Housing and Redevelopment Authority's proposed <br />renewal activities. It was agreed by us that the special use <br />permit should be required. <br /> <br />Barry P.
