<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was <br />held Tuesday, August 23, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth <br />Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Brandt, Gunderman, Larson, and Williams. <br /> <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: Henry Sinda, City Manager <br />Charlie LeFevere, City Attorney <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Mayor Benke introduced Mayor Councilor Patricia Hawkes and Mayor's Secretary John <br />Piper of Brighton, England, and presented Mayor Hawkes a IIKey to the Cityll. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Gunderman to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE MINUTES OF AUGUST 9, 1988, COUNCIL MEETING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with council consent, received the Minutes of the <br />Park Board for August 3, 1988. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Chet Gleason, New Brighton Lion's Club Member, presented the City <br />with a $1,500 donation which will be used to purchase video <br />equipment. Mr. Gleason also presented Mayor Hawkes with several <br />Lion's Club Pins.
