<br />o' ". <br /> <br />SP-76, Dave Moran <br /> <br /> <br />The City Planner reviewed his comments noting that. the <br />special use permit was needed to change the existing <br />Type 11 Non-conforming bowling alley to a conforming use. <br /> <br />Dave Moran, owner and applicant was present, to answer question$. <br /> <br />Commissioner Anderson asked Mr. Moran how many pinball <br />machines he had at present. <br /> <br />Mr. Moran stated he presently had 6 (six) machines. <br /> <br />Chairman Brown asked Mr. Moran if he had any plans to <br />expand this use within t~e building. <br /> <br />..",- <br /> <br />Mr. Moran stated he would like to provide a separate area <br />for such machines. <br /> <br />Chairman Brown asked Mr. Moran what his intentions would <br />be if he did not obtain the liquor license. <br /> <br />Mr. Moran stated that he would not proceed with his <br />expansion plans. <br /> <br />Motion by Anderson, seconded by Brown, to recommend approval <br />of SP....76.based on the following Findings of Fact: <br /> <br />L The applicants bowling" alley is a Type II Non-Conformity. <br />2. The applicant has made application for a building permit. <br />3. The non-conforming use must be changed to conforming use <br />before the building permit can be issued. <br />4. The bowling alley has been in operation for a number of <br />years and no major problems have been encountered. <br />5. A bowling alley is a use permitted by special use permit <br />in the B-3 district, which is more restrictive than this <br />I-I district. <br /> <br />6. The Planning Commission l)raEt Comprehensive" Plan <br />invisions this property for general business uses and <br />also notes that a commercial recreation use is desirable. <br /> <br />7. The BRA Redevelopment Plan states that the bowling <br />alley is compatible with the proposed downtown multi-ui?e <br />center south of 1-694. Furt}1cr, the Reievelopment Plag <br />says that the bowling alley anr'l restauran"t is an appr6priate <br />kind of use. <br /> <br /> <br />It is further recommended that SP-76 be subject to the <br />following~limitation: <br /> <br />- -. <br /> <br />1. The nurnberof coin operated amusement machines be <br />limited .toone half the number of bowling lanes to insure <br />that this use rema.insan accessory use. <br />4~ye? nayes carried <br /> <br />
