Amendment To SP-78
Page #2

1. The proposal does not reduce clutter nor provide sound
identification which are the purposes of the sign
ordinance;
2. Creates an enforcement problem;
3. Provides two signable area for the group on the same
side of the building, something not allowed by the
sign ordinance;
4. There is little control over signage, a tenant could
initially want a directory plate and then later the other
type sign;
5. This type of proposal establishes a. precedent for
unwarranted flexibility and freedom in signage not desired
by the intention of the sign ordinance;
6. This proposal is indirect conflict with the intent of
the original sign plan for the site in terms of reduction
of clutter and sound identification.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Board by simple motion recommend denial
of the amendment to the resolution adopted at its regular meeting
February 19, 1980.
