April lO, 1978

Mr. Keith Harstad
2200 Silver Lake Road
New Brighton, ~Thl 55112

Re: Signing for Office Building
2199 Silver Lake Road

Dear Hr. Harstad:

It is my understanding that the new office building at 2199
Silver Lake Road will have both individual and shared entrances.
Signing for such a building is regulated by Section 14-200 c(3)
of the New Brighton Zoning Code (see attached). As can be seen
the regulation refers to Section l4-l80 which is also attached.,
Essentially, it is stated that signing shall be permitted by
a special use permit based on a sign plan for the total signing
of the building.

I would also note that the ordinance indicates that the basic
guidelines for such a building is for just one (l) ground sign
identifying the building only and not individual tenants.
Further, the district regulations state that the ground sign shall
be no more than 20 feet in height and 64 square feet in area.

The materials necessary for a special use permit are as follrn~s:

1. Complete application form (signed by property owner{s).

2. $25.00 application fee.

3. Abstract certificate listing all property owners within
a 200 foot radius of the property.

In addition, the application should contain a drawing showing
proposed signs and location. A text accompanying the sketch
explaining the sign plan and making provisions for total signing
on the property would be very helpful.
