Ordinances state that the ground sign must have a
setback of 10 feet for this property, while the location sketch
apparently shows the sign up to the property line along Silver
Lake Road. The sign sketch itself should be refined

The, application refers to just the single ground sign and makes
no provision for window signs, signs on doors or directory type
signs. As with wall signs we feel that window signs could very
easily detract from the appearance. Signs on the exterior doors
listing tenantname(s) only may be appropriate and we would
suggest that they be kept to 3 inches or less in height. Wall
directories within the building entrances should also be permitted.

The design and location of the building create a situation where
signing should be handledsp.l)~itively. The trade off of having
tenants names on the grounds~gilld appear to be appropriate
in lieu of a.ny wall signs on the building.

STAFF RECOMMEN~TION

Staff .recommends that SP-79 be approved by waiving the reading and
adopting the attached resolution.

~p~

'mes F.
