May 9, 1977

Mr. Daniel W. Engelsaa
Kraus-Anderson, Inc.
525 South 8th Street
Mpls, MN 55404

Re: Signing at Shopping Center
1431-1433 Silver Lake Road
New Brighton, MN

Dear Mr. Engelsma:

Several months ago I sent you a letter concerning a
problem with a sign at the above noted location. This problem
was subsequently resolved. There is now a second problem with
signing at this location, namely, the permanent window sign for
the Razor Edge Barbershop. Permanent window signs require
sign permits and, as noted previously, permits cannot be issued
at this time as there are non-conforming signs on the property.
To secure the necessary permits would require that the City
Council approve a variance.

II

As tenants could be chan~ring at this location and signing
could become a continual problem, I would like to suggest that
we attempt to resolve the situation. Typically, the City Council
has required a sign plan be drawn for buildings such as this.
Signf for new tenants can then be easily provided. I would like
to get your ideas concerning this and also layout the procedure
for doing so, in a meeting with yourself or your representative.
I would like to have such a meeting in the near future as there is
the current problem with the Razor Edge sign.

If this is agreeable, please contact me so that a meeting can
be arranged.

Yours truly,

James F.
