Egert
Property Manager
Kraus-Anderson Realty Company
523 South Eighth Street
Minneapolis, Minnesota 55404

RE: Signing of the Silver Lake Road Shopping Center

Dear Mr. Egert:

Enclos~d for your review is a copy of the previously proposed
sign plan for the Center. In light of the conterns you mentioned
during our telephone conversation it appears that the discussion
concerning the Big B's Pizza sign is somewhat outdated.

However, this information outlines the City's basic principle
concerning signing of a building with multiple occupancy. One
ground sign is permitted indicating name of building only. On
the building there is a designated signable area in which each
tenant is allowed one wall sign. Window signs if any should be
temporary in nature. The end result should be consistent and
compatible signing for each tenant.

These brief comments are made only to introduce to you some of
the basic sign guidelines in the City of New Brighton. Because
of the complexities involved with the City's sign ordinance I
recommend that we meet and discuss specific proposals.

Sign plan approval requires that your company apply for a special
use permit which will be heard by the Planning Commission initially.
The Planning Commission meets the third Tuesday of every month and
the agenda deadlin~ is noon of the prior Wednesday. The City Council
will then hold a public hearing and take action on the proposal.

-r
I
~)
~f)
~u
:?
:?

;;:.

After reviewing the enclosures, please contact me and I'll assist
you in the preparation of your sign pl~n.

~e!;: t!A-e~

Joan M.
