'"

Adolescent Abuse Project cont.

The work has also involved working with families who have been reported to the
County WeHare Department for sexual or physical abuse of their adolescent chil-
dren. This entails investigation, assessment and case planning directed toward
the protection of the child or children and elimination of the conditions which
led to the injury. Appropriate resources are utilized to strengthen the family
life. .

In order to provide outreach services the project is taking reports of abuse
directly rather .than having these reports processed through the downtown intake
office. In addition to being able to respond quickly to abuse reports this
enables us to provide consultations on situations which are not clearly abuse.
By being officed at the Community Resource Center we are able to respond more
efficiently and effectively to abused adolescents and their famil ies as well as
the community.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous has been housed within the Community Resource Center since
Spetember 1st, 1978. They have tripled in membership and have at least a hundred
families more involved.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people, who share their experiences, strengths,
and hopes with each other to help one another.

A.A. meeting times are: Sundays: A.A., Alanon and Alateen at 7:00 P.M.
Mondays: A.A., Alanon at 8:00 P.M.
Tuesdays: Alateen at 7:30 P.M.
Wednesdays: A.A., Alateen at 7:30 P.M.
Thursdays: A.A., Alanon at 8:00 P.M.

The telephone number at the Community Resource Center Meeting Room is 631-9445.
Someone will answer during any meeting nights.

Senior Citizens Program and Congregate Dining

The Senior Citizens Program offers a variety of supportive services and programs
for district seniors.
