<br />July 14, 1978 <br /> <br />APPLICATIONS 10 R SPECIAL USE PERMIT <br />NON~CONFORMING USE PERMIT AND BUILDING PERMIT <br />SP-82, NC-30, LP-68 <br /> <br />PURPOSE <br /> <br />To consider applications to permit construction of an addition to <br />a telephone building. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Applicant: Paul Williams/Northwestern Bell <br /> <br />Location: 390 Cleveland Avenue <br /> <br />Zoninq: B-1 and R-l <br /> <br />Ordinance Requlations: The Zoning Code states that in an <br />R-lDistrict a service structure such as a <br />telephone building is a use allowed by a special <br />use permit. <br /> <br />Section 3-60 of the Zoning Code states that on <br />property where Type IV non-conformities are <br />present and are proposed to continue expansion <br />of an existing structure can only be allowed <br />upon permission of the City Council. Further, <br />that Council permission can only be granted <br />when the non-conformities are reduced to the <br />greatest practical extent. <br /> <br />Northwestern Bell has purchased additional property to the south of <br />this existing building and are now seeking to expand the structure. <br />As can be seen, there are three (3) separate actions required. This <br />report deals with all 3 applications. <br /> <br />SPECIAL USE PERMIT, SP-82 <br /> <br />A Special Use Permit is required as the additional property the <br />telephone company has purchased is zoned R-l, Single Family. The <br />proposed addition would extend just slightly into the R-l zoned <br />property. <br />
