NEW BRIGHTON PLANNING COMMISSION BOARD OF REVIEW RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF SPECIAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION, SP-8S WHEREAS, an application for a special use permit SP-85 has been made by Belair Builders, Inc. for signing at 441-5 8th Avenue N.W., and W~RE, the procedural history of the application is as follows: 1. That an application for a special use permit was filed with the City on March 14, 1979. 2. That the Board of Review heard and reviewed the application at its regular meeting on March 20, 1979. 3. The written comments and analysis of the City Planner and all .person's statements made at the Board of Review meeting were considered. I NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Review that I the following Findings of Fact are made in respect to SF-8S: I I I 1. The general purpose of the sign ordinance is to promote sound identification, reduction of clutter and aesthetic enhancement: I II 2. That the building design and location create a situation where signing must be handled sensitively: 3. That wall signs would not be consistent with the general p~rposes of the sign ordinance: 4. That a single ground sign as proposed would provide sound identification and would be compatible with the general area. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the application for SP-8S is hereby recommended for approval subject to the following: 1. That no more than one (1) ground sign shall be permitted on the property; 2. That the ground sign contain building name and tenant names only; 3. That such ground sign shal1not exceed Sixty-four (64) square feet in area nor 20 feet in height, and shall have a minimum 'setback' of thIrteen. (.13) feet~) four. (4) .. inches :'from "8th .
