If the silty and clayey sand <br /> <br />soils deviate from optimum moisture content by any great extent, the fill <br /> <br />materials will be difficult to compact and may exhibit instability if too <br />wet. <br /> <br />GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />This report has been prepared in order to aid in the evaluation of this <br /> <br />property and to assist the owner and/or architect in the design of the <br /> <br />project. The scope is limited to the specific project and location <br /> <br /> <br />described herein and our description of the project represents our <br /> <br /> <br />understanding of the significant aspects relevant to soil and foundation <br /> <br /> <br />characteristics. In the event that any changes in the design or location <br /> <br /> <br />of the building as outlined in this report are planned, we should be <br /> <br />informed so the changes can be reviewed and the conclusions of this report <br /> <br />modified or approved in writing by the soil and foundation engineer. <br /> <br />It is recommended that all construction operations dealing with our <br /> <br />earthwork and foundations be reviewed by an experienced soil engineer to <br /> <br />determine whether the soils encountered are as anticipated in this report. <br /> <br /> <br />Also, the placement and compaction of fill materials should be tested by an <br /> <br />experienced soil technician under the direction of STS Consultants, Ltd. to <br /> <br /> <br />determine the degree of densification of fill materials placed at this <br /> <br />site. The performance of structures on fill materials is depe.ndent upon <br /> <br /> <br />the fill soils being placed on an. adequate subgrade, and on proper and <br /> <br />STS Consultants, ltd. <br />
