ATTACHMENT C EXTRACT:rRoM'MINU'J'rS PLANNING COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 20, 1981 ~ , 1- ~ t 1. ;." to? . - " PLANNING COMMISSION CONSIDERATION AND dRECOMMENDATION The applicant Thomas Boudreau was present to answer' questions. He noted~hat in regard to the staff report under Staff Comments tha~Item #2 that there was only one guy anc.hor that is on the property line. He further noted that he did not provide information for a claspe radius because the discussion ih the past involved fall radius. Mr. Boudreau further commented that the tower is 65 feet i~ height and that the antennae extend~hat height to about 80 feet. SP-99 BOUDREAU 7 : 37 P. i". to 8:05 P.M. :): 1, ,;. ~} In regard to the requirement for a setback from utility and power lines the applicant stated that his tower met all electrical codes and felt it was a safe structure. He then presented a copy of a statement signed by three of his neighbors indicating that they had no objections to the radio-~ower~- SP-99 BOUDREAU 7:37 P.M. to 8:05 P"M. (con It) Vice-Chairman Baker with the consent of the Board received a letter dated July 28, 1981. - Mr. Boudreau indicated that the situation being considered has been going on for some time and that he felt that this particular installation created no danger of falling on adjacent structures and that the neighbors supported the project. He questioned the number of applications of a similar nature that the City has consideredwi~hin the last year and wanted staff to investigate antennae's located on the Northern Pipeline Company and McLean Trucking Company. Commissioner Livingston stated that staff would investigate the other towers mentioned but that had no reflection on the review of this particular request. Commissioner Knuth stated that the site plan should have also included the neighbors trees. Commissioner Knuth also questioned the purpose of this tower. Mr. Boudreau indicated that it was incidential to his property and served 'as a hobby and recreational purposes for him and his. family. Commissioner Helge~on indicated that staff has a tremendous and overwhelming job to enforce the code and that such code enforcement should" not reflect on this particular application. Motion by Knuth, second by Sande to close the hearing. 6 Ayes - 1 Nay (Weaver), Motion Carried ) Motion by Knuth, second by El~~uist to recommend de~ial of SP-99 by waiving the reading and adopting a resolution making findings of Fact. 7 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried
