STATE OFMINNEOSTA · COUNTY Of RAMSEY CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING APPLICATION FOR SPECIAL USE PERMIT, SP-IOO e WHEREAS, an application for a special use permit entitled SP-100 has been made by RCE Corporation to establish a sign plan for the Rice Creek Center; ~nd WHEREAS, the procedural hist.ory of the applicati.on is as follows: 1. That an application f.or special use permit; SP-100 was filed with the City of New Brighton .on October 6, 1981. 2. That the Planning Commissi.on~ pursuant to published and mailed notices, held a p~blic hearing .on October 20, November 17,1981, December 15, 1981 and January 19, 1982, all person's present at the hearing were given an oPP.ortunity to be heard. 3. That such application was reviewed by the City Council on January 26, 1982. 4. The written c.omments and analysis of the city staff, the Planning Commissi.on minutes and rec.ommendations were c.onsidered. l. 2. 3. 4. I 5. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the New Brighton City Council makes the f.ollowing Findings of Fact in respect to SP~O That the pr.operty is zoned B-3, General Business and developed as a sh.opping center; That the City in regard to signage has designated this iite as an area of special control (Secti.on 9-180 Zoning C.ode); Tha~ the City by special permit may establish special sign regulati.ons that are m.ore or less restrictive than the regulations in the table of Basic Design Elements; That the proposed sign plan is comprehensive in nature and addresses the needs .of the intensive c.ommercial activities .on this site; That the pr.oposed sign plan is consistent and compatible with the basic intention of the sign ordinance in that it reduces clutter, provides sound identification and is aesthetically pleasing.- e BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the application SP-100 is hereby approved subject to the conformance with the regulations and exhibits within the sign plan as signed and dated by the applicant and City Planner. - t.l Adopted this _ day of ~ 1982. e I I I II II i I I I i> 'I I I II c ) Gregory B.
