MEMORANDUM

DATE October 25, 1982

TO James W. Fornell, City Manager
FROr1 Joan M. Archer, City Planne~
SUBJECT: Depot Relocation

LOCATIONS

Mr. Bromander has indicated his desire to relocate the depot on City
property. I am slightly concerned that such temporary storage be on
industrial property. I talked to Mr. Tom Doten of Bell Lumber & Pole
Company (633-4334) and he has indicated that Mr. Bromander should
talk to him about temporary storage.

PROCEDURE

I got a letter from the City Attorney last week. He concurs that the
permanent relocation must be processed according to Section 8-630 of
the Zoning Code.

Temporary building relocation could be accomplished by the Council
waiving the requirements of Section 8-630 based on the temporary
nature of the request subject to the following conditions:

1. That a building relocation permit be obtained from the
Building Official;
2. That an acceptable plan of how the building is to be
left - doors and windows must be secured - must be left
in a safe condition;
3. That the location is acceptable;
4. That no one will be using the building nor working on
the building;
5. That the building is relocated by July 1, 1983 to a
permanent site; and
6. That the owners of the building obtain all necessary
building relocation permits (zoning and building) in
June 1983.

This schedule would give Mr. Bromander up to 8 months to secure a
permanent site and all necessary permits.

mh
