<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 23, 1988 <br /> <br />Benke did not believe there would be <br />sion before March 3rd; would be a good <br />the School Board meeting; and we <br />Anthony District is going. <br /> <br />Williams reported a Bill has been introduced (requesting $200,000 <br />to do a study of the potential of merging St. Anthony School Dis- <br />trict No. 282 with three other school districts); there is some <br />discussion between the St. Anthony City and School District <br />regarding the city buying part of the school for a fire hall, and <br />some are suggesting the District hold onto their facilities be- <br />cause of potential increase in enrollment. <br /> <br />time for a detailed discus- <br />follow up discussion after <br />need to know where the St. <br /> <br />Williams believes councilmembers need to be open-minded when the <br />entire range of options is discussed (Mounds View is just as alien <br />to southern New Brighton residents, as St. Anthony is to northern <br />New Brighton residents); noted that some New Brighton seniors are <br />currently partaking of St. Anthony's programs; and believes St. <br />Anthony schools would be a good interim facility. <br /> <br />Benke announced caucuses are being held tonight. <br /> <br />Benke announced the meeting of the New Brighton City Council and <br />the Mounds View School District Board will be held on Thursday, <br />March 3, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. at Pike Lake School Elementary School; <br />Gunderman advised there would be an open house/tour at Pike Lake <br />from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., with a ribbon cutting at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Council's State of the Region program is <br />Wednesday, March 2, 1988, at the St. Paul Radisson. <br /> <br />Sinda announced the Citizen Study Committee will be meeting tomor- <br />row night to finalize plans for the April 9, 1988, Town Hall Meet- <br />ing. <br /> <br />Benke announced that, because he would be attending <br />League of Cities conference in Washington, D.C. <br />through 22, 1988, he will miss the March 22, 1988, <br />ing. <br /> <br />the National <br />from March 19 <br />council meet- <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Gunderman, to ADJOURN THE MEETING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />The meetirig was adjourned at 5:26 p.m. <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />Caucuses <br /> <br />School District <br />#621 meeting <br />with Counc il- <br />members <br /> <br />State of Region: <br />Met Council <br /> <br />Town Hall Meeting <br /> <br />National League <br />of Cities <br />Conference <br />March 19-22 <br /> <br />Adjourment <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: ' <br /> <br />\\y~~" .r-i\, ,:t, \' '\ ~ <br />\,vJ L......I v '--_,.# <br />Margaret A.
