Y
A motion was approved by the council to accept an updated sketch
dated 2/26/74. The record indicates that the traffic consultant
had measured the site and found it in conformance with the sketch
dated 2/26/74. (The sketch indicated a site layout essentially the
same as what currently exists with five angular parking stalls.)
By motion the council deferred action and requested a site plan
showing: (1) 10 feet for parallel parking on the west side of the
building; (2) a 20 ft. parking lot driveway on the west side of the
building; (3) all areas 30 ft west of the building except access
driveways to be landscaped; (4) no parking signs along curb on west
side of building; (5),closing of the westerly driveway on County
Road E; (6) landscaping of the increased green area.
8. March 12, 1974: Motions to receive letters and amended site plan
from R. C. Ernst. (Letters stated that the plans of the traffic
consultant and the plans he had drafted for the council were not
acceptable to him. They also indicated willingness to provide
a sidewalk easement and to keep parking lot snow off"the sidewalk.
The sketch plan submitted deviated from the council request in the
following fashion: Parallel parking shown next to curb;
the southerly driveway on Silver Lake Road was shown at 20 ft rather
than 26 ft; location of no parking signs not shown; landscape
delineation not complete.
A variance was approved to the 15 ft. setback requirement and also to
allow 32 parking stalls subject to:
1. No parking signs installed on west side of building;
2. Green area in southwest corner be sodded;
3. Three parallel parking stalls along Silver Lake Road;
4. Compliance with the March 12 site plan and original site plan
where applicable;
5. Work to be complete by June 15, 1974 or temporary certificate is
subject to council revocation.
9. April 9, 1974: Council received letter from attorney for R.C. Ernst
and heard arguments for reconsideration of variance.
If there is any additional information the council believes necessary,
please contact my office and it will be attached prior to the next
counci meeting.
Thomas F. LeOcock
City Manager
