aA CO
MATERIAL HANDLING
EQUIPMENT CO., INC.
10 - 8th AVE. S.W.
NEW BRIGHTON, MINN. 55112 E'O
(612) 636-2881 J 19?
November 20, 1974 ?/n'OFN
City of New Brighton
New Brighton
Minnesota 55112
Attentions Pair. Barry Johnson
Building & Planning Co-ordinator
Re: Building Permit (Cranco Material Handling, 10 8th Ave. S.W.)
Gentlemen:
This letter will confirm my telephone conversation with
Mr. Don Peterson, Building Inspector, on November 19, 1974, on the
above subject.
All the sodding and seeding has been completed once around
this building with little or no success, at the cost of approximately
$2200.00. Next spring it is our plan- to forego the seeding as we
had originally showed on the plans. In place of seeding we are
going to completely sod all of the areas.
The main reason for the failure of the seeding not growing is
because of the weeds on the property around us, especially the Soo
Line Railroad property, and would ask the help of the City of New
Brighton to correct this problem. After next spring this company
will not continue to throw good money after bad to complete our
landscaping unless the above matter is corrected.
In the five years that this company has owned this building
Soo Line Railroad has only once cut the weeds along the track. There
were no weeds cut along the Soo Line tracks during 1.974. I believe
there is an ordnance requiring this to be done more often.
It is my understanding that this letter of confirmation to redo
the seeding and sodding will be adequate to obtain our final
occupantancy permit and the release of the bond. If there are any
questions on the above please feel free to call or write at any time.
Very truly yours,
Lawrence J Karlen
President
c.c. Mr. Don Peterson
Building Inspector
