<br />:p'.~. .....__.~- <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was <br />held Tuesday, November 24, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth <br />Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke (arrived at 8:39 p.m.), Councilmembers Blomquist, Brandt, <br />Gunderman, and Williams <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: <br /> <br />Henry Sinda, City Manager <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br />Margaret Egan, Finance Director <br />Maurie Anderson, Park and Recreation <br />John Kelley, Police Chief <br />Gary Berger, Administrative Assistant <br />Charlie LeFevere, City Attorney <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Brandt explained Mayor Benke was involved in a meeting in city hall and <br />would attend the council meeting as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Council Minutes Council Minutes <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Brandt asked that the following be added to paragraph <br />eight on page three of the November 10, 1987, council meeting <br />minutes: II ... by Mendelkoch as it is by Gordon Rendering and she <br />asked for an explanation from Ms. Bakken; none was forthcoming.1I <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Blomquist, to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 10, 1987, COUNCIL MEETING <br />AS AMENDED. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Brandt, with council consent, received the Environ- <br />mental Quality Commission minutes of October 14, 1987; Planning <br />Commission minutes of October 20, 1987; Economic Development Com- <br />mission minutes of October 28, 1987; and Park Board minutes of No- <br />vember. <br /> <br />In response to Gunderman's concern relative to the Park Board <br />minutes, Williams indicated, while looking at community centers in <br />various municipalities around New Brighton and exploring options <br />for the location for a New Brighton community center, the Park <br />Board became aware of the option of using a portion of a St. <br />Anthony school and is, at this time, simply doing research. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Blomquist, to APPROVE CONSENT <br />AGENDA ITEMS AS FOLLOWS: <br />
