<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held <br />Tuesday, October 13, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW, <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Blomquist, Gunderman, and Williams <br /> <br />Councilmember Brandt (Mayor Benke announced that Councilmember Brandt was <br />attending an inaugural meeting of the Ramsey County Charter Commission to <br />which she was appointed). <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: <br /> <br />Henry Sinda, City Manager <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br />John Kelley, Police Chief <br />Gary Berger, Administrative Assistant <br />Charlie LeFevere, City Attorney <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 22, 1987, COUNCIL MEETING. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with council consent, received the Environmental <br />Quality minutes of August 12, 1987; Planning Commission minutes of <br />August 18, 1987; and Economic Development Commission minutes of <br />August 26, 1987, and September 23, 1987. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Chester Glisan, representative of the New Brighton Lions, reviewed <br />$37,300 donations given to the community in 1987; and presented the <br />City with a donation for $500 for a portion of a television satel- <br />lite dish for the liquor store, and $4,500 to be applied toward a <br />new pavilion in Veterans Park. <br /> <br />On behalf of staff and council, Benke accepted the donations; and <br />asked that Glisan extend a thank you to the Lions for the donations <br />and for all of their good work in the city in the past years. <br /> <br />Glisan asked the Police and Fire Departments to come to the Lions <br />for non-budgeted items. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Special Order <br />of Business <br /> <br />Donations from <br />New Brighton <br />Lions <br />
