Council. proceedings <br />City of T.dew Brighton <br />August 12,1975 <br />The Cc~ur.~-_1 discussed the issue of how long the <br />non-con~aanity on the building should be allowed to <br />exist. <br />In respc~ns~e to a question by a councilmember, <br />Mr. Bc:?~ Griffis, owner of the property, <br />noted ~~iat the present billboard le ase was up on August 1, and <br />that th%s sign would be brought into conformity within <br />120 day.:;, <br />Motion by Anderson, second by Eagon to close hearing <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br />Motion by Eagon, seconded by Anderson to direct <br />administration to prepare a resolution stating <br />findings of fact regarding the existence of a hardship <br />and to authorize the variance as requested subject tos <br />1. The existing billboard being brought into <br />conformity within 120 days; <br />2. The other signs on the property being brought into <br />conformity by November, 1376. <br />Motion by Rebelein, seconded by Anderson to add the <br />additional condition that the City receive a copy of a new <br />lease on the existing billboard indicating that it will <br />;tee brought into conformity in the required time and <br />further amending the above motion by requiring tZe wall <br />sign in front of the building be brought into conformity <br />by November 1976 and the other wall signs within a 3-year <br />period of time . <br />Motion on amendment, 4 ayes - 1 nave (Fisher) carried <br />Vote on motion as amended, 4 ayes - 1 naye (Fisher) - carried <br />3 <br />Attorney stated hearing was properly called <br />Mr Sherman was present to answer council questions VN-143 <br />regarding his application Sherman-Fence <br />Motion by Rebelein, seconded by Eagon to close hearing <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br />Motion by Rebelein, seconded by Eagon to approve the 926 to <br />variance for a 6 ft fence not to extend beyond the front 9x31 <br />line of adjacent homes to the south and finding a hardship <br />exists because the applicant's property has very small <br />backyard and sideyard and because of the traffic on <br />Mississippi Street and because of the unique circumstances <br />of a large. front yard and large separation from abutting <br />property <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br />
