June 10, 1976 <br />T1r. Rodney Billman <br />151 Silver Lake Road <br />New Brighton, MN 55112 <br />Dear Mr. Billman: <br />You, as the property owner at 1403 Silver Lake Road are a <br />joint applicant with R. T. Wilson Co. for a variance from the <br />New Brighton Zoning Code for signs at the address above. <br />At its June 8, 1976 meeting the City Council held a public <br />hearing on the request, however, due to the absence of two Council <br />members, no action was taken. The hearing was continued until <br />June 22 at 8:04 p.m. The Council has also requested that you <br />present a plan for that meeting which will, over some period of <br />time, bring the property into total conformance, or into greater <br />conformance, with the ordinance. <br />The plan should not only describe the means for satisfying <br />present and future signing needs on the property and the time <br />frame for converting from the present to the new signing but should <br />also include sketches showing the proposed signs sizes, materials <br />and location on the property or the building. A copy of the basic <br />sign ordinance requirements covering your property is attached. <br />Also included is a copy of the background discussion presented <br />at the public hearing. Your attention is directed to the last <br />page containing the Planning Commission recommendation. This re- <br />commendation represents one suggestion as to the conditions for <br />bringing your property's signing into conformance. <br />Your involvement in the creation of a plan for handling of <br />all signing on the property is essential. Such a plan will provide <br />a means by which future signs can be easily erected by means of <br />a permit from the Building Inspector without need for variance <br />procedures and Council action. <br />The plan will also benef it present tenants.
