The <br />proposal is to replace signs on the pylon with R~ T ..Wilson signs .and <br />place one sign on the building above an existing wall sign These <br />signs, Mrs;,-'Eagon noted., would not increase the sign clutter on the <br />property: It ,vas stated that the: applicants feltthe warrants .were. <br />....present to jus fy the variance because there would bP-a hardship <br />for the R; T. Wilson, Co ;f they could not identify their businesse <br />Mrs> Eagon also noted that the building was now fully .occupied sa <br />the concern fox f..uture signs may be alleviated. <br />Mr_ Wilson indicated that they would appreciate the variance <br />approval for obvious business reasons. <br />Fredrickson noted that this building is a perfect example of <br />why there is a sign ordinance.. Fredrickson further noted that this <br />request may of-ford the opportunity to bring the existing signing <br />more into conformance. <br />Mr. Wilson indicated that they would be happy to comply with <br />any future sign amortization ordinance but that they do need the. <br />signs right now ., Mr tr1 i is on said that they would gladly take down <br />the signs if such an ordinance were .passed. <br />Neil Herly, 1253 North Court, stated that he felt the City Council. <br />-and Administration was spending to much time enforcing the sign <br />ordinance when the citizens of New Brighton do not carp if signs <br />are erected Mr. Her 1y further stated that the City Council and <br />.Administration should spend their time and money on projects that <br />are more important to the citizens to New Brighton. <br />Partyka noted .that there are people who are concerned with" <br />signing and that is the reason why the current sign ordinance was <br />adopted. <br />Mr. Herly stated that this building is much more attractive <br />-with its signing than is the McDon'~ld's building. <br />Fredrickson suggested that Mr. Herly work up a petition to <br />present to the City Council if he feels the pre-sent sign ordinance <br />should be :amended. Fredrickson-noted that the Board of Review <br />
