Not
completely certain as to how we should proceed, we asked both Barry Johnson
and Jim Winkel for their opinions.
It was decided that for the best results, we should hire an architect.to
draw up the overall plans. Unfortunately, we ran into 'another snag in the
fact that the architect that we have always used has taken the week of the
15th off, and we are unable to get the plans in by August 23rd, so again, we
approached Barry Johnson for advice as to how we should proceed, and this is
what he advised.
The first thing he advised was to describe the plan. We are providing
a blind on the.North side of'our entrance in the form of our own manufactured
high - quality Nqr-Craft Cedar, fence. South of the entrance will be where we
would put our office with the 'requested 40' of green space on? all sides.
Outside of the green space will be-a black topped parking area with concrete
curbing provided - though again, we'd prefer to use some of bur treated land-
scape timbers-, In the green space we'll provide the necessary shubs and trees
to really beautkfy,_the landscape., South of the parking area:and office we'll
provide a screen in the form ot,some beautiful native spruce trees, all the
way along our street frontage. We hope that all of this work tied into a
10 year plan would spruce up our manufacturing facility into comformity with
your City Ordanances.
We still, however, have a serious problem. We are in desperate need to
build our buildings, and would like approval to begin work at once. Barry
suggested that we proceed in this manner. Explain what our 10 year plan
consists of, and ask your approval to begin building; However, he suggested to
fulfill your own security and control of the situation, he said that it might
be found feasible by you to hold up our actual use of the buildings until
you have approved the required 10 year, plan.
