Chairman Brown asked <br />if the canopy could be used at any other Falcon Oil location, <br />Mr. Ahlberg stated that this was a custom designed canopy and <br />could not be used at any of their other locations. <br />Chairman Brown noted that there would be a big dilemna if <br />the Council were to approve every variance which was a result of <br />an individual or company going out and buying materials prior to <br />obtaining any permits or variances. <br />Mr. Snow noted that Super America, and Falcon Oil are extremely <br />different in their type of operation. Mr. Snow noted that Super <br />America offers many goods while Falcon Oil sells only gasoline. <br />Because of this, it is necessary for Falcon Oildo -do a more than <br />adequate job of selling their product, <br />Chairman Brown read the prior Planning Commission recommendation <br />noting that the Planning Commission had recommended denial because <br />the 15 foot barlance was an extremely large encroachment into <br />the setback area. He also noted the Council has referred this <br />application back to the Planning Commission with new materials <br />submitted and has also directed the Planning,Commission to consider <br />the possibility of moving the pumps, Chairman Brown also noted <br />that in their prior recommendation, the Planning Commission had <br />suggested that the Council perhaps study the matter in regards to <br />dealing with canopies in another manner <br />Commissioner Doyle noted that the Planning Report mentioned <br />that there were perhaps four options regarding the moving of the <br />pump islands. Commissioner Doyle asked if, in fact, the only <br />practical option was to move the pump islands slightly further <br />to the east. <br />Mr. Ahlberg stated that,: yes,, this option was the only practical <br />options available. <br />Chairman Brown stated that.the applicant had indicated that <br />moving the pump islands was not a feasible` option. <br />Mr. Ahlberg stated that this was not a practical option is the <br />cost were over $1000001srs indicated by their study. <br />Chairman Brown asked Mr. Ahlberg if this was a feasible option
