APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE
PLETSCHER GREENHOUSES, INC.
11. The applicant wishes to construct a two stall loading garage to be
attached to an existing building. The truck entrance doors are
planned for the east side of the addition, concealed from street
view. This configuration will place the addition, within 10 feet
of the side yard. Adherence to a 15 foot side yard setback would
require the entrance doors to be located on the north side of the
.addition where they would be exposed to street view and northwest
wind, and the interior would be too small for efficient truck
loading.
The attached garage must be situated in the proposed area so that
flowers and plants can be loaded directly from the cooler and the
flower arranging area.
It is impossible to maintain a proper working temperature for
our employees in our flower arranging area and retail store when
trucks are loaded during the cold winter months.
The land adjacent to the north of our property is owned by Mr.
John E. Pletscher, father of the owners of Pletscher Greenhouses,
Inc.
