RESOLUTION NO. 78-1 <br />NEW BRIGHTON PLANNING COMMISSION <br />BOARD OF REVIEW <br />RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF <br />VARIANCE APPLICATION VN-180 <br />WHEREAS, an application for a variance VN-180 has been made <br />by Douglas R. Peterson, 553-9th St., N.W., to permit the erection <br />of a permanent window sign exceeding 25% of the window area, and <br />WHEREAS, the procedural history of the application is as <br />follows: <br />1. That an application for variance VN-180 was filed <br />with the City on January 12, 1978. <br />2. That the Board of Review heard and reviewed the <br />application at its meeting of January 17, 1978. <br />3. The written comments and analysis of the City <br />Planner and all person's statements made at the <br />Board of Review meeting were considered. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Review that <br />the following findings of fact are made in respect to VN-180: <br />1. That practical difficulties and unnecessary hard- <br />ships would result were the "Body Specialists" sign <br />eliminated or reduced in size, <br />2. That a sign of the same size could be constructed <br />under normal circumstances in the wall area above <br />the windows, <br />3. That the substitution of the "Body Specialists" <br />window mural for a wall sign is not inconsistent <br />with the stated purposes of the zoning code. <br />4. That granting of the variance under the condition <br />listed below does not constitute special privilege. <br />
