SUPPLII~N'!' TO APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE 6. I,FsGAL DESCRIPTION: All that part of the Southeast ~ of Section 20, Township 30, Range 23 West of the Fourth Principal Meridians which is North of the centerline of Trunk Highway No. 100 and Bast of the centerline of Trunk Highway No. 63 (commonly known as State Highway No. 8) and South of a line described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the centerline of Trunk Highway No. 63 and Trunk Highway No. 100; thence Northerly on the centerline of Trunk Highway No. 63, 618:53 feet, which is the point of beginning; thence Southeasterly at right angles with the centerline of said Trunk Highway No. 63 a distance of 1,268 feet, more or less to the East line of Section 20, Township 30, Range 23; subject to the rights of the State of Minnesota in and to established highways. 12. STANDARDS FOR SIGN VARIANCES Applicants Statement of Reason for Variance 1. We have non-conforming signs and billboards on our property as described in Chapter 14 - Section 14-230. These billboards on our property were under contract when we purchased the property and at the termination of the contract we will make the adjustments necessary. 2. Our proposed sign also differs in regard to Chapter 1~+ Section 14-120 (e) in that we would want four signs in ~~fr~ ~ rather than one sign. Our proposed sign, as our drawing shows is made up of four (~+) cedar posts with a cedar facing (~" attached) our compar~y name routed into the facing and our company name painted in a contrasting color. The plan on mounding the area around the posts to a height of 12" above ground level and planting low shrubs on the perimeter. We might possibly put lights on the sign, but will confer with you later if xe decide to do that. We would propose to have the four (4) cedar posts as we feel this type of sign is in keeping with the design and appearance of our building, both exterior and interior and in conformity wit3h our large front yards as well as the personal preference of our management. Our proposed sign, using an imaginary rectangle is with the 6~ square feet allowed. Our proposed sign does exceed the required set back from our property line.
