January 11, 1978
Pdr . Harold Erks
16234 Kamacite St. Nw.I
Anoka, MLv 55303
Re: Harbon Montessori School Sign
Dear Mr. Erks:
This letter is, as promised, a follow-up regarding our conversation '
concerning a sign for the Harbon Montessori School in New Brighton.
As I indicated, the zoning code permits the property uses to be
identified either by a ground sign or wall sign, but not both
(see attached copy of zoning code section). The. church currently
has a wall sign and therefore any additional permanent signing
would necessitate a variance application. The procedure for a
variance is as follows
1. Application requirements.
A. .Complete enclosed application form.
B, $25.00 application fee.
C. Provide an abstract certificate of property
owners (not title) within a 200 foot radius of
the property in question. This abstract certi-
ficate can be purchased either through the
Ramsey County Abstract Clerk or the Title Ins-
urance Company of Minnesota, St. Paul Abstract
Division.
D, I would encourage you to submit sketches of the
proposed sign and location on property.
2. Planning Commission review and recommendation. The
Planning Commission meets regularly on the 3rd Tues-
day of each month. To be placed on any Planning
Commission Agenda the above noted application materials
must be received in my office no later than noon on the
Wednesday prior to the Planning Commission meeting.
3. Council receives application and Planning Commission
recommendation and sets a public hearing date.
4. Council holds public hearing and makes a decision.
