c' ` June 20, 1978 -3- VN-187 - Sunnyside Bible Chapel The City Planner stated that he had nothing to add to his .report. Mr. Lloyd Brandt, trustee for the Sunnyside Bible Chapel, was present to answer questions. Chairman.Brown noted that the placement of concrete curbing has been very consistently applied in developments throughout the City. Mr. Brandt stated that the Chapel feels the curbing would be a cost item that would add neither aesthetic or utility value and sees no benefit in installing the curbing. Mr. Brandt stated that the Chapel has not had curbing around its existing parking lot for 15 .years and that they are now.. considering expanding ,the building and that if this were done, the new curbing would have to be removed. Commissioner Brown asked. if the Chapel had approached the School District-about using the Trondale parking lot. Mr. Brandt stated that they had not contacted the School District, but that he did not feel that was a good alternative since the church members would not walk that far. Mr. Brandt stated that they also have plans for more landscaping which would be more aesthetic than the curbing. , Motion by Anderson, seconded by Brown, to waive the reading and"` adopt a RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND RECOMMENDING DENIAL OF VARIANCE APPLICATION. 4 ayes - 0 nayes - carried. SP-81, Independent .School District No. 621 Mr. Paul Donley, representing the school district was present to answer questions. Chairman Brown stated that he was well aware of the school district plans and thought they were very good. Motion by Brown, seconded by Williams, to recommend approval of SP-81, subject to the following conditions:. 1, That the special use permit be reviewed by the City. Council one .year after the initial approval.
