July 14, 1978 <br />Application for Variance <br />VN-188 <br />R.C.E. Corporation <br />PURPOSE <br />To consider application for a variance to postpone installation of <br />concrete curbing. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Applicant: R.C.E. Corporation <br />Location: 2100 Silver Lake Road (Rice Creek Center) <br />Zoning: B-3, General Business <br />Ordinance Rectulations: Section 12-045 of the Zoning <br />Code states that "i.e., all parking areas <br />which service multiple family, commercial, <br />industrial and institutional developments <br />shall have concrete curbs except that indus- <br />trial developments shall only be required <br />to have concrete curbs in yards abutting streets". <br />By this application, the applicant is seeking a 2-year postponement <br />from the City Council(see attached Council Report #78-146). The <br />City Council denied the request for the postponement and, th erefore, <br />the applicant is now requesting this variance. <br />As noted in the Council Report, the Temporary Certificate of Occu- <br />pancy for the center has expired. It was also noted that the <br />installation of curbing has been consistently applied and completed <br />in other developments throughout the City. <br />
