Standards for sign variances.. Section 1~-220 states that the <br />crucial points of a sign variance are: <br />1. Practical difficulties; <br />2. Unnecessary hardship, or; <br />3. If results inconsistent tr~ith the general purpose of <br />this chapter would otherwise occur <br />Before a variance can be granted, special circumstances invo].Ving <br />size, shape, topography, location or surroundings must attach <br />to the property referre?~ to in the application which do not <br />apply generally to other properties in the same district. <br />Any variance ..granted shall be subject to such conditions as <br />will assure that the adjustment thereby authorized shall <br />not constitute a grant of special privilege inconsistent <br />with the limitations upon other properties in the vicinity <br />and zone in which such property is situated. <br />RPPLICANT'S GTATEMENT OF REASON FOR VARIANCE: <br />This variance is requested because <br />13 . In granting a request for a <br />variance, the Council may stipulate any conditions considered <br />necessary to protect the public health, safety or welfare. <br />
