Unnecessary hardship, or; <br />3, If results inconsistent vaith the general purpose of <br />this chapter would otherwise occur <br />Before a variance can be granted, special circumstances involving <br />size, shape, topography, location or surroundings must attach <br />to the property referrer" to in the application which coo not <br />apply generally to other properties in the same district. <br />Any variance granted shall be subject to such conditions as <br />will assure that the adjustment thereby authorized shall <br />not constitute a grant of special privilege inconsistent <br />with the limitations upon other properties in the vicinity <br />and zone in which such property is situated. <br />~PPLICANT'P GTATEMENT ©F RF~SON FOR ~T~RIANCE: <br />This variance is requested becauseinadequate identification exposure from <br />building mounted signs would not be as great as from a lighted, free^standing <br />py~lon sign If we are forced to place signs on this building we_will be greatly <br />decreasing the visibility from Silver Lake Road traffic. Sign location and <br />exposure is paramount in the real estate industry. <br />12(~~~ Neighboring merchants have been allowed 64 square feet of signage because they have <br />100 lineal feet of street frontage-. We-are located on 84 lineal feet of street <br />frontage and are limited to 6 square feet of signage which we feel is grossly unfair <br />by comparrison. <br />Building mounted signs on this particular building would detract .from the attractive- <br />ness of the building and could possibly create a degree. of fire hazard. <br />Section 11-050 Council May Stipulates In granting a request .for a <br />variance, the Council may stipulate any conditions considered <br />necessary to protect thA public health, safety or welfare. <br />
