RESOLUTION NO
NEW BRIGHTON PLANNING COMMISSION
BOARD OF REVIEW
RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND RECOMMENDING APPROVAL
OF APPLICATION FOR A VARIANCE, VN-208
WHEREAS, An application for a Variance, VN-208 has been
made by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company to construct a
short term parking area with less than the required front
yard setback, lack of the required concrete curbing and
dustless surface and have more than the permitted.number of
dwellings.
WHEREAS, The procedural history of the application is as
follows:
1. That an application for a Variance, VN-208 was filed
with the City on August 6,_1979.
2. That the Board of Review heard and reviewed the
application at its regular meeting on August 22, 1979.
3. The written comments and analysis of the City Planner
and all person's statements made at the Board of
Review meeting were considered.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED By the Board of Review that
the following Findings of Fact are made in respect to VN-208:
1. That the applicant needs 16 additional parking spaces;
2. That a hardship would result if the employees of the
applicant were required to park on the street because
of potential traffic, safety and road maintenance
problems
3. That the time period to install equipment in the
newly completed addition is unique to this particular
company;
4. That there is no location in a permitted area on the
site that would accommodate the needed parking spaces.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the application for
Variance; VN-208 is hereby approved subject to the following
conditions:
1. That the proposed parking area have a 6 foot fence
on the north and east sides to screen the parking
from the public right-of-way; and
2. That the parking area be oiled to provide a means of
dust control; and
3. That the variance is granted until July 1, 1981
and that after that time the parking area will be
landscaped as indicated by the approved site plan for
LP-68.
Adopted this day of
, 1979.
Steve Schmidt, Chairman
Joan M.
