City of New Brighton } <br />February 24, 1981 <br />??. <br />4-' <br />k,. <br />Public Hearings <br />The Mayor with the consent of the Council VN-215, LP-105 <br />directed receipt of a letter from Belair Belair Builders <br />Builders dated February 17, 1981 which 7:40-7:42 <br />requested withdrawal of their application <br />for variance. <br />With concurrence of the Council that <br />their request should be honored, no further <br />action was taken by the Council. <br />The Director of Public Works described the improvement #78-7 <br />storm sewer project. Storm Sewer - <br />Old Highway #8 <br />Mr. Dick Aplikowski, owner of Lakeside Project <br />Mobile Home Park and affected property Report No. 81-27 <br />owner spoke in favor of the improvement. 7:43-7:55 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2425 <br />Mr. Don Erickson, 1297 Imperial Lane, <br />requested Council consider MSA 116B <br />before making a decision. <br />No one else spoke to the subject. <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist <br />to close the hearing. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING THE RAMSEY COUNTY PLAN FOR THE <br />UPGRADING OF OLD HIGHWAY #8 BETWEEN 2ND <br />STREET NW AND 6TH STREET SW AND APPROVING <br />THE SPECIAL ASSESSING OF THE UNFUNDED <br />PORTION OF THE STORM SEWER COST AGAINST <br />THE BENEFITTING PROPERTIES WITHIN THE <br />DRAINAGE AREA. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br />The Director of Public Works described Improvement #81-2 <br />the proposed project. Foss Road Storm <br /> Sewer <br />Mr. Dan Halva, attorney representing Report No. 81-28 <br />Dick Aplikowski, spoke to the subject. 7:55-8:37 <br />He suggested the project be done in RESOLUTION NO. 242 <br />conjunction with the Highway #8 project <br />and stated that although the costs are <br />high, that if the project was done in <br />conjunction with the Highway #8 project <br />the cost would be less than if done at <br />a future date. <br />-2-
