(OP OPatiOlt 2100 SILVER LAKE RD. SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA 55112 06-0200
December 16, 1981
Honorable. Mayor and Council
City of New 'Brighton
New Brighton, MN 55112
Dear Mayor and Councilpersons:
Last January the coucil approved a variance for off-street parking at Rice
Creek Center, which permitted construction of the center addition. One of
the conditions of the variance states:
That the driveway off of Rice Creek Road be consicEr-d temporary
in nature but be maintained by the applicant and be repaired and
have a'2 inch bituminous surface before a certificate of occupancy
is issued for the addition.
. We filled the chuck holes in the bituminous surface before freeze-up last
month. As you probably are aware, we have been negotiating with Super Valu
to build for them a new super market in the area of the temporary driveway.
I am enclosing a copy of the tease Proposal cover letter and Preliminary
Site Plan to confirm the negotiations.
Obviously, considerable grading and development will be necessary to prepare
this site for Watershed District approval and building permits. Therefore,
1 am requesting that the City Council grant a six month extension of the
above condition, which will enable 'us `to complete negotiations with Super Valu
and secure the necessary approval for this development.
Thank you for your help with this request.
Very truly yours,
L•
R.C. Ernst
RCE/paJ
Enclosure
•
